After the first round of got_exchange we had a surprisingly successful comment fic meme going for a while (here's a list of all the fics that were written last time), so I thought it might be fun to do this again. (Like last time, it's posted on the mod account journal because I don't want to enable anonymous comments on the exchange community.)

I changed the layout to one that still supports comment titles. I hope it works for everyone. If there are any problems, please let me know.

A couple of rules, or rather guidelines:

- please include the pairing/character (and maybe a short prompt/kink) in the comment title - both for prompts and for fills.
- there are both show and book fans on this comm, so please warn for book spoilers beyond AGOT in the comment title.
- anonymous comments are enabled, but I'd appreciate if we kept them to a minimum. If you absolutely want to go anon, okay, but I'd rather we kept this as non-anonymous as possible.
- all prompts are welcome: smut, gen, romance, fluff, angst, het, slash ... anything goes.
- and the usual: be civil, no character/pairing bashing, no kink shaming etc.

It's perfectly fine to repost prompts from the last comment fic meme or from the exchange.

As with any kink meme, this is only fun if people also fill prompts, not if there are only requests.

Their coupling, if it could ever be called that (or anything) was born of bitterness and hatred and wine. It was always a ridiculous thing, a thing that could never be spoken of lest it turn into something real.

Sometimes Barbrey had to laugh at it all, for it simply seemed so absurd. The path that brought her to The Eyrie, to this unholy sanctuary where she found herself fighting for the restoration of the Starks, was full of sharp and inexplicable turns.

Perhaps it was all for this moment. She makes Petyr read her the letter again that evening, the one full of all the lurid details of Bolton’s fall.

She listens closely, her breathing somewhat shallow even in her sated state. Towards the end she brings her right hand to her face and examines it in the darkness. It’s clean and pure and she finds that distasteful.

“I wish I could have felt his blood in my hands,” she says and Petyr laughs, dismissively.

“And what good would that have done?” he asks. But she can feel the warmth running through her fingers, the life draining from Roose’s pale flesh. The image is very real in her mind; she can almost taste the blood.

“Nothing,” she answered in a clipped voice. The rush she got from hearing the letter was beginning to die off, drying away like the sweat on her body. She thinks of Brandon. He’s always there, in this bed, this figure of loathing and blame and destruction. She bloodied her hands for him, helped to put that vapid girl Petyr dotes on on a cursed throne, and no one will ever know. Petyr prefers things that way, but Barbrey can’t help but feel cheated.

Twenty-some years of hatred brought her to this spot, to this bed, to a place with no real reward. Everything they have constructed has been built on ash.

The thought turns her stomach. She sits and straddles his hips, pulling his hands up to encircle her waist, forcing his nails into the flesh, praying for blood.

Oh this is gorgeous. Thank you for writing it.

They're so bitter and miserable and stunted but they go so well together. It's like their damage brings them together in a way. I love Barbrey's desire for corruption here, and why does her desire to kill Roose seem so hot?

I love how Brandon's ghost is in bed with them. I love how she hurts Petyr. And the thing is, I could totally see her switching to the Stark side if Sansa emerges and the Boltons fall, because she comes off in canon as an opportunist in the extreme, only out for herself. Maybe that's my headcanon talking though.

Yay, I'm glad you liked it!

I have a fondness for couples who come together for the wrong reasons, especially out of a need for revenge.

She's totally an opportunist. I think that's another reason they're perfect together.

You just write them both so well and they are just, in a way, two of a kind. My headcanon Ryswells are pretty grasping people, from what we get of Rodrik in canon (I think that's Barbrey's father's name).
