I think that's part of the reason why I like the idea of Sansa and Brienne meeting so much, and why I loved Brienne serving as Catelyn's lady knight, it is so against the society they are raised in, and I just love the thought that both my wonderful Stark ladies had/could have someone who is really just watching their back, who has no romantic inclinations onto them, which is so often how the Sansa fics go when it is a man who comes to her rescue (and I don't really ship Sansa with anyone). Brienne is a true friend, and yes, a true knight. <3
I'm glad you thought Sansa's unwillingness to trust worked, I tried to make her resistant but still keep it to a comment fic! XD And I'm glad you liked the references to Catelyn, I always see Sansa as looking up to her mother so much as the ideal lady of the house that she would like to be, but now any comparisons are just sorrowful (and twisted, in the case of Petyr and Lysa).
