I've been wanting to explore that side of Theon for a long time, since I've written the "process" of his madness/ruin, just not the result. And yes, it is utterly heartbreaking and I have so many Theon feelings that it's ridiculous almost.
I guess it's a testament to the abruptness of the Red Wedding that even the characters don't believe that it has happened.
