Thank you so much! I'm so glad you listened to the music; Prokofiev's 2nd violin concerto is a wonderful piece and the 2nd movement is a beauty, and I had the pleasure of seeing the same soloist in the video perform the piece live about two years ago.
Writing Stannis/Davos always seems to be about the right balance of UST, and I'm glad you thought I did okay with it.
Women to Stannis might as well be an alien culture, and I can't think of any who he would think fondly of except his mother. The death of his parents radically shaped Stannis' personality (for he goes on in the books how it made him lose faith in the gods) and left a permanent hole in him. I'd like to think that we would eventually find another woman to help heal his old loss and remind him what it's like to have a family again. And I also think Stannis envies Davos for that. (wow, I'm getting overly sentimental here...)
