I hope everyone isn't too busy with the porn battle for the post-exchange comment fic meme. As usual, I would very much appreciate if you could help spread the word about this meme on LJ or tumblr or wherever - the more people know about this, the more prompts and fills there are. :)

The rules are the same as always:

- please include the pairing/character (and maybe a short prompt/kink) in the comment title - both for prompts and for fills.
- there are both show and book fans in this community, so please warn for book spoilers beyond ACOK in the comment title. Please also warn for non-con, violence etc.
- anonymous comments are enabled, but I'd appreciate if we kept them to a minimum. If you absolutely want to go anon, okay, but I'd rather we kept this as non-anonymous as possible.
- all prompts are welcome: smut, gen, romance, crack, fluff, angst, het, slash, femslash ... anything goes.
- be civil, no character/pairing bashing, no kink shaming etc.
- please don't derail other people's prompts with comments like "I think this would be better if it was about a different character" or the like. Post your own prompt.

“Bran, wait!” Arya called, chasing after her brother as he nimbly made his way up and across the roof of the stables. “Slow down!” Any other time, she'd be able to outrun him easily, but this was different. Her younger brother was so surefooted, even on the narrowest of beams; she doubted she'd ever keep up with him without her feet on the ground.

But that didn't keep her from trying.

Bran couldn't help but let out an excited yelp as he hopped his way from one roof to another as his sister struggled to match his pace. It was a good thing he was ahead of her; if she saw the smug grin on his face, she'd punch him for certain.

He loved climbing- the feeling that he could go anywhere he wanted, whenever he wanted, and no one could tell him otherwise; the feeling of freedom. He loved seeing the ground a long way down from his feet. He'd never admit it, but sometimes he'd even pretend he could fly. As much as he loved all that, though, it usually meant that he played by himself. Having his big sister along somehow just made it even better.

Truthfully, he liked playing with Arya best of all. Rickon was too young, and the games he played bored Bran. But Robb and Jon were both too old and too big to be walking on the sometimes rickety roofs of the Winterfell courtyard. And Sansa... well, she would have been alright if she weren't such a girl.

“I'm going to beat you!” Bran called back over his shoulder, never taking his eyes from the path of his feet.

“You think so?” Arya called back. He could hear that she was out of breath, but he knew not to underestimate the stubbornness in her voice.

Bran quickened his pace in response, but it was no use. While he was always precise in his movements- his footsteps all planned, avoiding the weaker areas of the roof- his sister was not. In a mad, reckless dash, she surged ahead of him, taking a wild leap until she landed hard on the roof of the smithy. She was laughing loudly across the gap, but he ignored her, crouching down to try and hide himself; he knew what was coming next.

“What in blazes are you doing up there?” Mikken hollered as he came to see what had made such a noise above his head. “Arya?”

She stopped laughing at once, shooting a glare toward Bran, who remained well-hidden. “I...”

“I expected this of your brother, little miss, but not from you,” Mikken scolded. “Just you wait until I tell Lady Stark about this, she won't be-”

The blacksmith's words were cut off, though, as Arya let out another laugh and ineptly made her way down from the roof. “No need to tell Mother, Mikken,” she said sweetly, and Bran couldn't help but roll his eyes from his hiding place. “I promise I'll not do it again.” She was all smiles as the man shrewdly considered her words.

“Aye,” he finally said, relaxing. “Make sure that you don't.”

Bran didn't see his sister again until dinner that night. She pinched him under the table and smugly reminded him, “I won.”

“Only because you're stupid,” he muttered, only pouting a little.

Arya merely shrugged at that, her smile undiminished. “I still won.”

Oh this was really sweet! Its a pity the siblings relationships weren't explored in further details before everything hit the fan. I like to think that these sort of moments happened all the time between these two. very lovely done!

I know, I feel exactly the same way! We barely get a glimpse into some of the relationships in the books before they're all separated. :( It's really nice to write and read these "missing moment" fics, though, to get a look at what the dynamic might have been between characters. Glad you like it! Also, I really love your Sandor/Arya prompt! I hope someone fills it soon! If not, I might just have to go do it, myself. ;)

It really is too bad, but thank goodness for fanfiction! GRRM may say what he will but goodness some times it helps fills in the blanks while we wait for his next masterpiece XD

Oh no way! I'd love it if you were to write it! You have Arya just spot on! I'd love to see your take on Sandor too! I originally wanted to write a fic on those two but honestly I can't seem to get into Arya's head X__x; So I've been hoping someone else might be inspired!

Entirely unrelated but do you have other tales floating about? Or a ff.net account I could peek at? I love how you write wouldn't mind peeking at some of your other tales if you have them ^^

Aww, thanks! I might give your prompt a try. I love the dynamic Sandor and Arya had together in ASOS so much. When his name finally dropped off her list, I practically squealed. Hahah. Definitely one of my favorite friendships/rivalries in the books. I've never written anything with Sandor in it, though, so it might be interesting to see how it would turn out.

And yeah, I have an account on AO3 (also aneedleofmyown). But I have to warn you that basically all the GoT fics I've written up to this point are Arya/Gendry (I just love them a lot ok). Hahah, so if that's not an issue, then feel free.

Oh yes please!! Oh me too! I was laughing so hard at first then they began their journey. His empty threats was oddly endearing (imo) because you really see that the real Sandor is nothing like the Hound he has to be in the Lannister's presence. Then when Arya removed him from her hit list I was just YES THIS! I just loved the idea of them having this budding surrogate big bro and little sister kind of relationship.

Aww hey if you write him as well as you did Bran I'm sure it will be awesome! =D

*G* I've subscribed to you I actually I think I read your tale about Dany/Jon? The political marriage one at least it sounds rather familiar. If its the one I think it is then I must say that one was really good too have it saved to my memories over here...

Ahahah, yes! I was the same way with the empty threats! Gah, Sandor's very strangely adorable, and I love him so much. And Arya, herself, is my favorite character, so the two of them together is just genius on GRRM's part.

Well, I did write a fic for the exchange recently about a political marriage, but with Dany and Robb.

dvnjsfnit ok THANK YOU. It's so nice to actually find someone on here who legitimately ships Arya/Gendry. I was almost starting to think I was crazy for shipping them?? But no, they're perfect together.

*G* Arya rocks!! I just hope that GRRM doesn't completely break her by the time the novels are over that's my big fear. She's been through so much I hope she doesn't lose herself entirely to the faceless god =( I'd cry if that happens I want her to have a happy ending too...

When I read of htem in the novels I was just yeah they better hook up when she's older (you know old enough to be attracted to boys etc). I'll be so peeved if that's the last we hear of those two in the novels! I just love their scenes together that quasi-mocking flirting. I felt so bad for her when she's all pretending not to be sad/hurt about him wanting to remain behind with those other kids =(

Ugh, yes, definitely. I think that would be worse than him killing her, to be honest. Although, I really don't want her dying, either. I wouldn't mind her being a little broken at the end of everything, but my ideal ending for her would be reuniting with Gendry (even if only as friends) and picking up the pieces. That's about as much as I'm allowing myself to hope for, because we already know how much GRRM loves crushing our dreams.

Gah, I know! It's crazy to me that there seem to be so few of us- at least, on this site. To me, there's only two other couples in the books that have as much of a foundation, and so much canonical evidence that there's something more going on there. I mean, they even have their own song. (!!!)

And no worries. I'll try to get the fill up as soon as I can, but I'm so nervous about screwing up Sandor that I'm not sure how long it's going to take. I'll definitely have it up by this weekend, though, so hopefully it'll work out. :)

Oh goodness I'd rather she die than become a shell of who she is/was =/ Although if he were to kill her off I'd weep so hard =( Oh! I'd love it if it ended with her being reunited with Gendry the two of them having been through so much and grown. How they can help each other heal and move on ♥

Ah okay I have to bite who are the other couples you see that have as much foundation? (am curious if they are my otps heh). Oh the song! Okay that could go one way or the other I know of two whom are said to be connected to said song (One more literal the other ore symbollic)...

Yeah, I have to say, it seemed ridiculously obvious to me from the start that there could potentially be something more between the two of them. Like I said, they have their own freaking song (No Featherbed for Me- and I have to say, I've never heard it used for any other pairing besides these two, so I'm really curious!)

And the other two pairings that, in my opinion, have the most canonical backing are Jaime/Brienne and Sansa/Sandor. Jaime/Brienne just... well, obviously they've got ~feelings for each other. Theirs is pretty much the most blatantly romantic relationship that GRRM has written in the series so far. So, yeah, there's tons of things between them ("I dreamed of you," Jaime bitchslapping Connington for Brienne's sake, etc.).

As for Sansa/Sandor... Well, so far there seems to be three main/likely "suitors" for Sansa and those are Sandor, Tyrion, and Petyr. Sure, she marries Tyrion, but there's never anything more there- and given the mere fact that he's a Lannister, it's almost impossible for her to ever trust him. Petyr is a bit trickier (as he always is). He rescues her from KL, they kiss a couple times, etc. But she really doesn't seem to feel much for him, romantically speaking. In fact, she was kind of freaked out the first time he kissed her. I think the main point of GRRM throwing her and Petyr into their situation is so that Sansa can learn how to really play the game- because, let's face it, Littlefinger's one of the best there is when it comes to that.

As for Sansa's feelings toward Sandor, there's a clear evolution there. She starts out being terrified of him- and rightly so. But by the third book, she's having sexual dreams about him ("I'll have a song from you"), and "wishing the Hound were here." She keeps his dirty white cloak with her summer silks, though she refuses a pomegranate from Petyr because it's "too messy." (Got that point from a genius on Tumblr, though I forget their URL). To me, it just seems like her romantic feelings are directed more toward Sandor than anyone else, though all the same, I would be shocked if they actually ended up together.

HEE!! Ah okay I'm not going mad then! The other two you mentioned are my other OTP because for me its so obvious that its canon or certainly headed that way! *high5* Yeah and the way too how Jaime is all in denial about Brienne one moment then having completely opposite thoughts about her the next. A lá bath scene yeah Jaime I think your body is trying to tell you something maybe that thick head of yours should listen! XD Then there's the dream and the way he goes on about her lovely eyes hehehe How he gives her oathkeeper etc etc etc...

Eww i won't lie I really cannot handle the idea of Petyr with Sansa =( It just creeps me out so hard. He comes across like a lecherous pervert than a proper suitor. Though I can see how she can learn from him I just keep fearing he's going to try and molest her every time i get her chapter X__o;

Tyrion at least had the decency to leave her be...

But yeah Sandor is definitely the one for her. Just too many similarities and all those hints right down to Robert's remark about 'get her a dog, she'll be happier for it' I was just gobsmacked when I read that. And then Eddard's remarks about finding her a good match, someone strong, gentle and brave...

Oh I love the comparison too of Sansa refusing the pomegrant (such a cool reference too to Peresphone and Hades) and how she prefers Sandor's tattered cloak (him being also a representative of the Stranger). Gah I could go on but no one needs to hear that blathering haha

Yeah I'm with you on that one as much as I'd love them together I can 't see GRRM going through with it because he loves his angst too much...and then there is that awful line 'A dog will die for you'...I truly hope he leaves their story open so we can imagine that one day they end up together instead of him killing Sandor off for realz...

Agh, yes, the story of Persephone and Hades is pretty much my favorite out of the greek myths, and when I read that part in the book, I was like, FOUR FOR YOU SANSA STARK YOU GO SANSA STARK. Just too perfect.

Oh, gosh and yes, Jaime/Brienne. Honestly, there were moments when I just had to put the book down for a second to process what I'd just read, only to pick it back up and reread it to make sure it wasn't just my imagination. Like, really?? There are SO many things between those two, I can't.

fnsrghjh and I've spent the entire day writing Gendry/Arya fanfic, so I'm just about to burst with all my feels. Now, on to filling your prompt! :)

YES THIS!!! Sansan reminds me so much of those two it hurts of course Beauty and Beast naturally but still just love those two to bits I really do hope they get their happy ending...

HAHAH I know! They're like the odd couple you just never see it coming and then when you do you just can't get enough of it. Its subtle but entirely there and then grows ever more obvious as the tale goes along till the point you're just waiting for it (them to register their affections).
