Comment fic meme #5

I hope everyone isn't too busy with the porn battle for the post-exchange comment fic meme. As usual, I would very much appreciate if you could help spread the word about this meme on LJ or tumblr or wherever - the more people know about this, the more prompts and fills there are. :)

The rules are the same as always:

- please include the pairing/character (and maybe a short prompt/kink) in the comment title - both for prompts and for fills.
- there are both show and book fans in this community, so please warn for book spoilers beyond ACOK in the comment title. Please also warn for non-con, violence etc.
- anonymous comments are enabled, but I'd appreciate if we kept them to a minimum. If you absolutely want to go anon, okay, but I'd rather we kept this as non-anonymous as possible.
- all prompts are welcome: smut, gen, romance, crack, fluff, angst, het, slash, femslash ... anything goes.
- be civil, no character/pairing bashing, no kink shaming etc.
- please don't derail other people's prompts with comments like "I think this would be better if it was about a different character" or the like. Post your own prompt.

It's perfectly fine to reprompt ideas from the previous comment fic memes, the exchange or other kink memes. If you missed the previous fic memes, you can find the masterlists here: #1, #2, #3, #4. (Make sure you don't accidentally post new prompts over there, nobody will see them.)

As with any kink meme, this is only fun if people also fill prompts, not if there are only requests.

Filled prompts:
Catelyn & Lysa: The Tully Girl Who Mattered
Petyr/Sansa: scar kink
Victarion/Asha: Coming home
Stannis/Jon: Scars
Jon/Sansa: Jon as step-father (or father-like figure) to Sansa's children.
Sansa/Oberyn: anything that involves the water gardens.
Petyr/Sansa: Modern AU
Arya, Bran: The Race (Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet.)
Victarion/Asha: Practicality
Selyse/Stannis, Shireen: Victorious
Sansa/Oberyn: Five Gifts
Stannis/Jon: In the Skin
Sandor & Arya: Long Road Home
Sandor/Sansa: Daddy in Charge (Sandor babysitting his kids)

Multiple fills are of course welcome.

It really is too bad, but thank goodness for fanfiction! GRRM may say what he will but goodness some times it helps fills in the blanks while we wait for his next masterpiece XD

Oh no way! I'd love it if you were to write it! You have Arya just spot on! I'd love to see your take on Sandor too! I originally wanted to write a fic on those two but honestly I can't seem to get into Arya's head X__x; So I've been hoping someone else might be inspired!

Entirely unrelated but do you have other tales floating about? Or a ff.net account I could peek at? I love how you write wouldn't mind peeking at some of your other tales if you have them ^^

Aww, thanks! I might give your prompt a try. I love the dynamic Sandor and Arya had together in ASOS so much. When his name finally dropped off her list, I practically squealed. Hahah. Definitely one of my favorite friendships/rivalries in the books. I've never written anything with Sandor in it, though, so it might be interesting to see how it would turn out.

And yeah, I have an account on AO3 (also aneedleofmyown). But I have to warn you that basically all the GoT fics I've written up to this point are Arya/Gendry (I just love them a lot ok). Hahah, so if that's not an issue, then feel free.

Practicality, Victarion/Asha

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2013-01-29 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Bracing herself against the rough wood of the headboard, Asha lets out a sharp gasp as he enters her, thrusting against her from behind, hands gripping her waist so tightly that she knows that tomorrow she will find bruises in the shape of Victarion’s fingers decorating her body. From her position, she cannot see his face or the way that he clenches his teeth when he lies with her, but she can hear his breath hissing through his tight jaw, harsh with the effort and the sensation, and she can picture his face, a hard mask, more suitable to the battlefield than the bedroom. But Asha doesn’t mind. She’s not quite sure how this whole thing with her nuncle started and doesn’t really think about it much. Just that one day she was a niece, a girl who could heft an axe as well as any man on Pyke, and the next, she was a lover.

But she scorns Greenlander words like that, Greenlander mooning over lords and ladies and their affections. She rather likes how rough and ungainly things are, enjoying the sweat that dampens her hair, the way that her muscles tense and cramp as Victarion threatens to crush her between his body and the bed. She shivers as his hand wanders from her waist to her throat, only lighting there for a moment, looking for a better place to rest as they move together in the dark.

And when it takes hold of her hair, tugging almost too hard, pulling her head back, she forgets herself, forgets where they are, and lets out a moan so loud that she knows that someone surely heard it. But Asha doesn’t really care about that either and lets it echo as she feels him pull out, spending himself elsewhere so as not to beget some abomination only fit to cast down to the Drowned God.

They fall to the bed and Victarion admonishes her.

“Hold your tongue, woman,” he mutters, face dark now with disapproval, but Asha only laughs, lolling on her side, enjoying the discomfort on her nuncle’s face.

“Don’t you want everyone to know how well you please your lovers, nuncle?” she asks, smirking, a bold hand reaching out to toy with his hair, unbound, lying tangled in his face, over his chest, covering the broad muscles that she loves to touch so well.

He grabs her hand then, pinning it to the bed, and a few stray hairs still remain clutched in her fingers. “You would do well to keep silent, niece,” he blusters, “for if your father were to discover what we do-” He doesn’t finish the thought but Asha can read his thoughts well, and can well imagine the cold look on Balon’s face if he were to discover them as they are, the swift fist that would likely rend her nuncle’s pleasing yet harsh features, the voice that would cast them both out, exiles, and what good would that be.

She enjoys getting the best of him, but is far too practical to risk a good thing. Still, her father? There are better things to think of when they are naked, their muscles singing from the exertion, and Asha sighs, rolling her eyes, and climbs on top of him, ready for another go, stifling her laughter when he shoves her to the mattress.

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2013-01-29 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
This is lovely. I especially like the fire/ice imagery and how Oberyn is still very much Oberyn but he's so kind and patient with Sansa as well.

Re: Arya/Bran (gen), The Race

[identity profile] kylathelurker.livejournal.com 2013-01-29 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes please!! Oh me too! I was laughing so hard at first then they began their journey. His empty threats was oddly endearing (imo) because you really see that the real Sandor is nothing like the Hound he has to be in the Lannister's presence. Then when Arya removed him from her hit list I was just YES THIS! I just loved the idea of them having this budding surrogate big bro and little sister kind of relationship.

Aww hey if you write him as well as you did Bran I'm sure it will be awesome! =D

*G* I've subscribed to you I actually I think I read your tale about Dany/Jon? The political marriage one at least it sounds rather familiar. If its the one I think it is then I must say that one was really good too have it saved to my memories over here...

*GGGG* I ship those two so hard too they're one of my 3 OTPs actually ^^ I'd love to read more about them when I have the chance! ♥ Its nice to see another who loves those two as well! =D

Victorious, Selyse/Stannis, & Shireen

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2013-01-29 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Selyse doesn’t bother to weep any longer. She doesn’t grieve for their situation, forgotten in a drafty castle on the edge of the world, with only a skeleton crew of doubtful men and her sickly daughter for company. She sits in her purloined solar, wrapped in furs, staring into the flames that lick pitifully at the meager allotment of wood that the Night’s Watch permit her each day. She’s not quite sure what she is trying to see. Perhaps it is R’hllor, come at last, as promised, come to fulfill the hours of devotion that she, as his faithful servant, has granted him. Perhaps it is their doom, hers and Shireen’s, an image wrought in the ash of the White Walkers that will surely come down from the land beyond the wall and take them all, dragging them into a sleep, or worse yet, an endless life in death. Perhaps it means nothing, and if it is, then all of this has been for nothing, and that is worst of all.

She does not comfort Shireen much when the girl comes to her, sinking onto the floor beside her mother’s chair, scarred cheek turned inward to hide against the ermine that keeps Selyse from freezing to death in this draughty, tumble-down excuse for a holdfast. Her hand rests lifelessly on her daughter’s hair, and she thinks coldly on her husband, glad that she cannot see her child’s piercing blue eyes and square jaw, too like her father’s face, too much for a little girl almost, for it will only remind her of what she has lost, and the sacrifice that he has made for a dead man's girl, leaving his own to freeze.

Selyse is angry at first, angry at Stannis for leaving them to rot here, for consigning her and her Florent kin to ramshackle castle after castle in this brutal country. First Eastwatch, which was an insult from which she still rages privately to her Queen’s Men, and now Castle Black, where she is a gilded raven among crows, clad in her black gown with its gilded accents, not out of place among that crows that surround her, squabbling and picking for what little is left. Perhaps it is fitting, this gown of Baratheon obsidian and gold. Perhaps it will become her widow’s weeds.

Then she is angry at Melisandre, furious with the red woman who has promised her all and shown her nothing save a prophecy that has turned on her, turned on them all. Her voice had so soothed Selyse, had calmed her fury, had given her a purpose and a meaning to the long endless days of idleness and routine that spread before the wife of a great lord, and she had embraced the new faith, had embraced the fire that had so warmed her at first. It has now has left her singed and pained, and finally, numb. She is glad that she does not have to face the priestess now, thankful that she does not have to affect courtesies that Melisandre will so easily penetrate with her sharp words and her knowing eyes. Selyse knows that she would swallow her words but wonder always, that if the gift were so great and the message so clear, why this end, this horrible bitter end, was not foreseen as well?

But it has been weeks and there is no word. Not from Stannis, nor his men, nor any other northern scavenger. All is as silent as the snows that blanket the barren land in which she now dwells. She refuses to light the fire now, for it is too painful a reminder of her own blindness, and she sits and waits and says nothing.

And one day there is a raven bearing a tattered parchment with a makeshift seal, a leaping stag, a fiery heart, and she clutches it like a talisman in a hand grown sharp and thin with want. She cares not for the northern dead nor any detail of the battle that surely raged in the lands to the south. She only cares for one thing. He is coming back to them and he is victorious.

This is so great, as always. :D I love how rough and raw and tense Victarion is. And hair-pulling, yesssssss. The Greyjoys just make for the best porn. Grumpy Victarion and trolling Asha. ^^

a bold hand reaching out to toy with his hair, unbound, lying tangled in his face, over his chest, covering the broad muscles that she loves to touch so well.
I love how Victarion's hair makes it into every fic because it's just that gorgeous and hot. And it's perfect that Asha only thinks of how inconvenient and dangerous it would be if Balon found out, but she doesn't really angst about it the way Victarion does. I love how you write these two. Thank you. <3

Re: Practicality, Victarion/Asha

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2013-01-29 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, and they are so much fun to write. Such a stress reliever, those Greyjoys. ;)

I had to put that hair thing in there, because I'm always having Balon do things with his brother's hair and even though Asha doesn't know what goes on, she's her father's daughter so...

Re: Arya/Bran (gen), The Race

[identity profile] aneedleofmyown.livejournal.com 2013-01-29 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahah, yes! I was the same way with the empty threats! Gah, Sandor's very strangely adorable, and I love him so much. And Arya, herself, is my favorite character, so the two of them together is just genius on GRRM's part.

Well, I did write a fic for the exchange recently about a political marriage, but with Dany and Robb.

dvnjsfnit ok THANK YOU. It's so nice to actually find someone on here who legitimately ships Arya/Gendry. I was almost starting to think I was crazy for shipping them?? But no, they're perfect together.

And that settles it, I'm filling your prompt ASAP. Hopefully, I won't muck it up. :)

*G* Arya rocks!! I just hope that GRRM doesn't completely break her by the time the novels are over that's my big fear. She's been through so much I hope she doesn't lose herself entirely to the faceless god =( I'd cry if that happens I want her to have a happy ending too...

OH! I definitely have to check that one out! I never considered those two before *ponders*

*blinks* really? Gosh I know of one other who does [livejournal.com profile] onborrowedwings and then myself. Damn are there really so few of us out there? I mean those two were made for each other! When I read of htem in the novels I was just yeah they better hook up when she's older (you know old enough to be attracted to boys etc). I'll be so peeved if that's the last we hear of those two in the novels! I just love their scenes together that quasi-mocking flirting. I felt so bad for her when she's all pretending not to be sad/hurt about him wanting to remain behind with those other kids =(

HAHHA Aww wow thank you so much!! I can't wait to read it!!! I probably won't be able to peek at your tales though till the weekend *sobs* stupid renos and RL! =P But am so pumped to find another who actually loves those two!!

I am intrigued by Selyse personality, and I love who helps me explore it underneath her simple surface!
Bitter, sad and hopeless, just as I asked!

I really hope that he will truly be victorious, at the end!

This is lovely. I have to say this is not a particular favourite pairing of mine, but you made this a very enjoyable read. Thank you for this.

Re: Arya/Bran (gen), The Race

[identity profile] aneedleofmyown.livejournal.com 2013-01-29 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, yes, definitely. I think that would be worse than him killing her, to be honest. Although, I really don't want her dying, either. I wouldn't mind her being a little broken at the end of everything, but my ideal ending for her would be reuniting with Gendry (even if only as friends) and picking up the pieces. That's about as much as I'm allowing myself to hope for, because we already know how much GRRM loves crushing our dreams.

Gah, I know! It's crazy to me that there seem to be so few of us- at least, on this site. To me, there's only two other couples in the books that have as much of a foundation, and so much canonical evidence that there's something more going on there. I mean, they even have their own song. (!!!)

And no worries. I'll try to get the fill up as soon as I can, but I'm so nervous about screwing up Sandor that I'm not sure how long it's going to take. I'll definitely have it up by this weekend, though, so hopefully it'll work out. :)

Oh goodness I'd rather she die than become a shell of who she is/was =/ Although if he were to kill her off I'd weep so hard =( Oh! I'd love it if it ended with her being reunited with Gendry the two of them having been through so much and grown. How they can help each other heal and move on ♥

I can't believe there are so few fans out there honestly I figured when I was reading the books there would a lot more than there are. Because to me its entirely obvious the potential anyways...

Ah okay I have to bite who are the other couples you see that have as much foundation? (am curious if they are my otps heh). Oh the song! Okay that could go one way or the other I know of two whom are said to be connected to said song (One more literal the other ore symbollic)...

Aww no worries I' sure you'll do an awesome job! I'm just so thrilled someone is interested in it in the first place! =D Thank you so much!! *big hugs*

Wow. I am very much a shipper of her with another (obvious is obvious) as my OTP, but even I cannot deny that this was incredibly done.

Entirely touching and heartbreaking at the same time too. I like how they learned to heal through each other and let go of the past. How that hatred that once bound them in the end became that door that enabled them to let go and truly be free to find happiness again.

Oh lovely piece of work!! I really loved how you gave us a glimpse into Selyse's mind and her personality. Something that always seemed to elude me in the books. I do love how she's strong and weak at the same time torn between determination and doubt. Nicely done!!

Re: Victorious, Selyse/Stannis, & Shireen

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2013-01-30 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad that you liked it- it was a really intriguing prompt. I find Selyse really fascinating because of how unsympathetically she is depicted in canon and in terms of her situation.

I'd also like to see Stannis make it through the books!

Re: Victorious, Selyse/Stannis, & Shireen

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2013-01-30 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! We don't get so much of Selyse in the books, as I said above in my other comment, and for that I find her fascinating.

Re: Arya/Bran (gen), The Race

[identity profile] aneedleofmyown.livejournal.com 2013-01-30 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Same. If she dies, I'll cry 5evr, and then most likely kill GRRM or something equally crazy.

Yeah, I have to say, it seemed ridiculously obvious to me from the start that there could potentially be something more between the two of them. Like I said, they have their own freaking song (No Featherbed for Me- and I have to say, I've never heard it used for any other pairing besides these two, so I'm really curious!)

And the other two pairings that, in my opinion, have the most canonical backing are Jaime/Brienne and Sansa/Sandor. Jaime/Brienne just... well, obviously they've got ~feelings for each other. Theirs is pretty much the most blatantly romantic relationship that GRRM has written in the series so far. So, yeah, there's tons of things between them ("I dreamed of you," Jaime bitchslapping Connington for Brienne's sake, etc.).

As for Sansa/Sandor... Well, so far there seems to be three main/likely "suitors" for Sansa and those are Sandor, Tyrion, and Petyr. Sure, she marries Tyrion, but there's never anything more there- and given the mere fact that he's a Lannister, it's almost impossible for her to ever trust him. Petyr is a bit trickier (as he always is). He rescues her from KL, they kiss a couple times, etc. But she really doesn't seem to feel much for him, romantically speaking. In fact, she was kind of freaked out the first time he kissed her. I think the main point of GRRM throwing her and Petyr into their situation is so that Sansa can learn how to really play the game- because, let's face it, Littlefinger's one of the best there is when it comes to that.

As for Sansa's feelings toward Sandor, there's a clear evolution there. She starts out being terrified of him- and rightly so. But by the third book, she's having sexual dreams about him ("I'll have a song from you"), and "wishing the Hound were here." She keeps his dirty white cloak with her summer silks, though she refuses a pomegranate from Petyr because it's "too messy." (Got that point from a genius on Tumblr, though I forget their URL). To me, it just seems like her romantic feelings are directed more toward Sandor than anyone else, though all the same, I would be shocked if they actually ended up together.

AND I'M SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO WRITE AN ESSAY I JUST HAVE FEELS
